Botanical Memory Code in Luminous Flesh
Purist Gallery | London, UK | 20 Oct - 16 Oct

London-based visual artist Chun Ding presents her solo exhibition Luminous Flesh – Objects Between Presence and Absence, featuring nine works that explore the porous boundaries between light, matter and the body. Curated by Fang Liu (Summer), the exhibition runs from 20 to 23 October 2025 at Purist Gallery, London. Combining the tactile qualities of cyanotype with digital collage, Ding transforms botanical forms and materials into images that oscillate between visibility and absence.

Highlights include Blueprint for a Soft Collision (2024), a diptych cyanotype on fabric that brings botanical fragments into dialogue with machinic traces, and Botanical Memory Code (2025), a four-part series translating plant physiology into visual systems of memory and decay. In Orchid Atlas in Reversal and Phase (2025), positive and negative inversion, stitching and layered textiles turn the image surface into a haptic archive.

Across the exhibition, Ding treats surface as a site of touch, inviting viewers to engage with the delicate traces that emerge between organic and technological systems, memory and transformation.
